Within each unit of the 2 modules, you will have video instruction, worksheets and PDFs, links, resources, and helpful hints along the way.

Also, you will be able to comment and ask Arlette questions through the course platform, at the end of each unit.

You’ll finish Module 1 understanding what this mini-course covers and who your instructor is.  You will have taken one or more instructive surveys that will help you identify what is important to you when considering which colleges you want to apply to.

  • Unit 3: The Importance of Majors

At the end of Unit 6, you will be comfortable using your CustomCollegePlan account, you will have created your list of colleges and will be well into fully investigating them all.  You will also understand how to make contact with colleges, and know what to look for during college campus tours.

I'm Arlette Bolduc

When my son and stepson were applying to college back in 2011, I realized that helping them get through it was a full time job! There were so many steps, so many moving parts - it was far more complex than when I applied to college. At that time, I had been practicing law for over 20 years, and was ready for a change. My new mission was to help other parents/families who were going through this crazy application process. I dug deep, kept my day job, but started to learn all I could about college counseling.

I earned my certificate in  College Counseling from UCLA and soon founded Grays Hall College Counseling. I wanted to not only relieve the confusion and stress surrounding the college application process, but also help students find the right fit schools to apply to. 


I had the good fortune of attending Harvard for my undergrad as a first generation student, and I truly want to help other students realize their college dreams. I had such a wonderful experience at Harvard that I named by company after my freshman dorm, Grays Hall.                                     

I work with students 1:1 and through group coaching.  I designed this mini-course which is part of a masterclass Application Autoroute as a more affordable way to make my services accessible. I am devoted to helping students and their families have as stress-free of an experience as possible, all the while enjoying this exciting time!
